Team Spain Prepares for the Dinner

Hi! My name is Katelyn Murphy, part of the Dream Team. Our class is getting ready for a dinner that we’ll be hosting in our school gymnasium. Our class has been busy, working in our country groups (France, Australia, Jamaica, Fiji, Japan, and Spain) for this dinner.
I’m part of the Spain group. My team members (Megan Taulbee, Mikayla Ernest, and Hannah Leas) and I have been deciding what we’re going to wear, how we’ll decorate our tables, and who will play what role, whether it’s a chef, a server, or a hostess. We decided that Hannah will be the hostess, Megan shall be the server, and Mikayla will be a hostess and a server, while I shall be the chef. Hannah and I will wear a white shirt and tan pants, while Megan and Mikayla will wear a colored shirt, long skirt with a scarf tied around their waists. Our tables will be decorated with a Spanish border, maracas, and sombreros. We’ve also been deciding what our tip box will be like, and rested upon the slogan, ‘If you are thinking, ‘Wow! They were great servers to me!’ Then leave a tip to help us go to DC!’
You may be wondering WHY we’re hosting a dinner in our school gymnasium. Well, our class has the goal of visiting Washington DC, and explaining to Congress why they should make an invertebrate a national symbol, because invertebrates do a lot for us. So we are hosting a dinner in order to raise money to go to DC.
We have 336 spaces available, but if more people want to come, then we will get more tables and chairs. Everyone 5 and older is $5, while 4 and under eat free.
At the dinner, we will be unveiling the 12 candidates for a national invertebrate symbol, and our customers can be some of the first to vote! So make sure you’ll be there, if you’re close to Hebron, Kentucky, come to North Pointe Elementary!
