Dinner at Beef O Brady's

By Tyler Fraiture

Today my mom and I went down to Beef O Brady's. We spoke to one of the owners Mr. Dave. We asked if he would help us raise money to go to Washington D.C. I explained that invertebrates aren't just bugs that we step on. He said sure he would help us. We just have to pick a Monday and he will make a flyer for us to send home to all the North Pointe students. The best part is 20% of what they make that night will go towards our trip. I think Mr. Dave is awesome, and thanks mom. We are now getting closer to reaching our goal and going to Washington D.C. So look for a flyer coming home soon to go and eat at Beef O Brady's and support the Igames.

Jamaica's plan for the Dinenr

by Riley

Today I met with my Jamaican country, and we have some great news. We picked out our jobs for the dinner! This is what we came up with: Andi- Chef; Morgan and Laura- Waitresses; Riley- Hostess. WE also picked out things to wear. We will have bright colors, and lively flowers. Anyone a Bob Marley fan? We will have his music too. To start off the night in Jamaica, we will greet our guest in a Jamaican accent, then lead them to their table. Then I will tell them some exclusive facts, and then excuse myself. Then Andi, Morgan, and Laura will come to assist them. Andi will deliver bread, and Laura and Morgan will take orders. After the food is ready, Morgan and Laura will deliver it. During their meal, I will ask them if there food is exquisite. After they are done, Morgan and Laura will take their plates,. WE will all thank them for coming. That is how we plan the night to go!

Promoting the Dinner: A Guinea Pig's Perspective

by Megan

Hi my name is Bugsy. I am the class guinea pig in Mrs. Jackson’s room. Today February 23, 2010 I was just sitting in my cage eating my carrots, when two girls stopped in the classroom. Their names were Jessica and Megan. They were from Mr. Guenther’s class. They wanted to talk to the class about the unveiling of a national invertebrate dinner.
They said it was on March the 9th 2010. It sounded kind of cool until they said if you go you can vote for a national invertebrate. That is when it got really cool. Also they will be serving my absolute FAVORITE meal. The meal is Bug juice, spaghetti, and salad. I got extremely jealous when they said that they were going to Washington D.C. to make an invertebrate a national symbol. I have always wanted to go there. The dinner sounded so cool that I wanted to go. But there was one problem. I think they should make a guinea pig a national symbol.

What a Nervous Experience

by Mikayla

Megan and I were on our way to Mrs. Ellis’s class. I was saying to myself breath in… and out. Breathe in… and out. I was so nervous, what if I forgot my lines?! It felt like a herd of elephants were shoving me towards the door. Then, it was silent. All eyes were on Megan and I, as Mrs. Ellis told the class to quiet down, and put down what they were doing. Once Megan started her speech I finally calmed down. After we both said one paragraph, one kid told us something hilarious. He said the questions we were asking were 24 year old questions. I was so close to bursting into laughter. When Megan was done talking about her 2nd part, the same kid who made the first comments said, “Well, since Americans take bees honey the bee species will die out all because of humans invading them by taking their honey!” Wow! I thought. That was hilarious. Everything else after that went excellent. So we handed out the papers, thanked the class, and were on our way back to our classroom.
